Robyn Noftle, originally from Leland, NC, earned her bachelor’s degree in music education from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro where she graduated magna cum laude in 2011. Prior to her studies at UNCG, she performed with various ensembles including band, marching band, jazz band, CFCC’s big band, and UNCW’s saxophone ensemble and jazz ensemble. At UNCG she performed in numerous saxophone quartets, saxophone ensembles, bands, and other small ensembles. She also met her husband and fellow Upbeat Music Company teacher, Brandon Noftle, in the saxophone studio at UNCG.
Robyn began her music career as the band director at the Downtown Middle School in Winston-Salem, NC. After one year, she began teaching at Kernodle Middle School in Greensboro, NC. During her four years at KMS she taught band, jazz band, eighth grade orchestra, and she also started the extracurricular KMS full orchestra. Many of her students participated in All-County Band, All-County Jazz Band, All-District Band, All-County Orchestra, and Junior Western Region Orchestra during her time at KMS. She is currently a graduate student at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
